OUR COMMUNITY ROOTS:

~ the Butch Femme community rose from the ashes of exclusion, chose evolution over revolution - and now practices an unmatched stance of inclusion.

The terms and language we use to describe ourselves expanded (out of necessity) to accommodate our full spectrum of uniqueness, which has resulted in the most diverse set of Identities under the Rainbow Canopy.

A LITTLE BIT OF BACKGROUND:

The last decade has been the most formidable for this niche Culture. it’s truly been an honor to witness and be a part of its evolution.

My wife and I have been Hosting this Community via Facebook Groups 24/7 - 365 since 2009.

We are not paid for it, there is no glory or fame or power to be had.

We do it with a next level spirit of Volunteerism, and for our love of the beautifully complicated collective of folks who make up this Community today.

Our Main Group Membership numbers have reached over 23,000 worldwide, and the combined numbers for all 5 Groups is over 30,000.

4 years ago we recruited Sandra Jean-Pierre to join our Admin Team. she has been an absolute blessing and we’re super proud to call her Family.

There are just 3 of us keeping the doors open and the feeds flowing.

It can be a lot.

We've grown old and tired.

After almost 14 years of having Hosted the Butch Femme Community and Culture in its Full Spectrum, my wife and I had come to a crossroads. A few months ago we decided we had 2 choices going forward.

CHOICE #1 - Retire and archive all the Groups.

CHOICE #2 - Soul search for our second winds, and if we found them intact - use them to optimize our position so that we can do more for this Community.

We found our second winds!

WE’’RE CURRENTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF APPLYING FOR A 501c3 NON-PROFIT

WHAT IS OUR GOAL RIGHT NOW?

The most valuable asset this Community has - is each other.

Seeing the list of Identities that make up who we are today is one thing - being surrounded by that kind of diversity in a dedicated safe space is super empowering, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it can be life-changing for some.

The best memories some of us own are of the times we have gathered in person with our people. Some have become lifelong friends and chosen family.

We’ve hosted a few gatherings, the first one was in 2019 - but with the impact of Covid affecting millions and millions of households, the cost of traveling and attending has been a huge obstacle for many of you.

Filing for the 501C3 non-profit means that we can apply for Grants that will help fund future gatherings in different locations, allow us funds to mobilize the Outreach, and also enable us to offer various resources and support services exclusively by/of/for all who gather among us.

THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP

Filing fees are involved to complete the non-profit status and other miscellaneous start-up costs. Those filing fees must be paid within 90 days from when we began the process, and we began the filing a month ago.

My wife and I are on fixed incomes and are not able to save up the funds on our own before the time runs out. If that happens, we will be Fined. We definitely cannot afford to take another hit!
