Kijiji Solutions US supports community-based initiatives that benefit residents in Kibera, Nairobi, Africa, with focus on sanitation and the environment.

Kijiji Solutions' approach to poverty alleviation addresses problems from within communities. We build alliances with community leaders in slums to support community-based initiatives that promise environmentally sustainable and socially beneficial solutions to the many issues faced by residents in high density urban settlements.

Additional projects include garbage collection, recycling, gardening, and building or restoring washrooms (toilets, showers, washing stations for cleaning clothes). Most projects are initiated by local residents, often youth groups, whom we supply with protective clothing, carts, tools etc. We have also purchased houses in Kibera that serve as emergency shelter, meeting rooms, and storage for tools etc.
