Sally’s Safe Haven: Help Us Build Her Very Own Cottage at So Cal Rescue Ranch

Meet Sally — a gorgeous brown-and-white Pitty with the sweetest smile and a heart of gold.

Rescued from the euthanasia-list at Downey Animal Care Center in Downey, CA, Sally has been in wonderful training in the Los Angeles area since May, patiently waiting for her perfect Forever Family.

We now have the chance to welcome her to So Cal Rescue Ranch — a place where she can relax, have fun, and thrive until her most PERFECT dream family comes along.

We’re totally ready for sweet lil' Sally! We have the space, the love, and the super fun, enriching daily adventures planned. All Sally needs now is her very own decompression cottage and a private outdoor space where she can feel safe, cozy, and completely herself.

Our goal:

$3,100 – Sally’s individual cottage

$600 – Private 5x10 outdoor run with a roof (expandable to 10x10 later!)

That’s a total of $3,700 to create a space that’s 100% Sally's from day one.

Here at So Cal Rescue Ranch, dogs only spend downtime in their cottages and private outdoor zones — for naps, meals, and their night-time beauty sleep. The rest of day is ALL about structured play, enrichment, nature-walks (also known as 'Hot Girl Walks' in Sally's case), sunbathing under a nice shaded awning, and exploring the fenced-in property.

Sally will have a super fun, super safe routine, including daily off-leash time where she can sniff every (dog-safe ) flower, and soak up all the sights and smells of ranch life. She'll even get to lizard and bird watch (don’t worry, they’re way too fast for the dogs )!

The best part? We have no time limits here. Sally can stay with us for as long as she needs totally free of charge until her absolute perfect match comes along.

We never want dogs to be rushed off to "less-than-1000%-ideal" Foster Homes, or placed in a “just okay” Forever Family because of boarding costs or deadlines.

Having her own cottage ensures Sally is totally safe, happy, and loved while she awaits her true Happily-Ever-after.

Once Sally is adopted, her cottage will become a life-saving spot for another urgent shelter dog who just needs a little more time to find their Forever Family.

This is part of our long-term dream — a network of cottages offering free temporary housing for at-risk Pitties, so no dog loses their life simply because they had nowhere to go.
