Help Build Homes, Communities and Hope in Cambodia
Doação protegida
In the past decade, Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, has experienced rapid urbanization as more and more people move from rural areas to the city in search of better opportunities. With the population expected to grow by 2 million by 2030, the country will need an estimated 1.1 million new homes. Yet today, 17.8% of Cambodians live below the poverty line—many in overcrowded, informal settlements that leave families especially vulnerable to disease, flooding, pollution, and the growing impacts of climate change. Poor housing conditions, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to clean water, electricity, and waste management only worsen these risks.
If you already feel inspired to support, you can help by donating or sharing this page. If you’d like to learn more about why this means so much to me, please keep reading :)
Habitat for Humanity Cambodia is working to change this—partnering with vulnerable communities to build safe, climate-resilient homes. These homes provide more than shelter—they offer a foundation for health, security, and a brighter future. Since 2003, they’ve supported over 177,000 families through housing, clean water and sanitation programs, and community development. Their approach focuses on long-term, sustainable solutions that are shaped by the communities themselves. By building safe, climate-resilient homes that families can expand as they grow, Habitat Cambodia is helping create stronger foundations for health, dignity, and a brighter future.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support and build alongside Habitat for Humanity Cambodia through Habitat’s Global Village Program. Many may know that my connection with Habitat for Humanity goes back quite a while—I’ve built homes with several Habitat affiliates across the U.S., including Connecticut, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector, specifically with Habitat for Humanity, where I now proudly work securing corporate grant funding to support Habitat's mission.
While it’s still early to know exactly what stage of construction we’ll be at in November, we’ll likely be pouring foundations and raising walls for a new home. I’m excited to share updates, stories, and photos from the trip when I return.
Your donations will help make this journey possible—not only by getting me to Cambodia, but more importantly by directly supporting Habitat’s efforts to partner with families to build safe, affordable, and resilient homes, laying the foundation for stronger, healthier communities. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps! And if you’re not able to donate but feel comfortable, I’d be so thankful if you could share this page. :)
