Hello! The Local Girl Media Group, a woman-owned grassroots media company, is launching the Rainbow Bridge Memorial Project, a new pet loss support and remembrance initiative in Elysian Park in Hoboken, New Jersey. Founded by Jennifer Tripucka, creator and Publisher of The Local Girl and The Hoboken Girl, the project was born from a deep love of animals and a desire to create a permanent, peaceful physical space where residents can honor pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
We are partnering with a team of students from the Stevens Institute of Technology Senior Design Team and WISE Animal Rescue (501C3), through The Local Girl Give, as well as the City of Hoboken to bring our project to life, bringing together local leadership, animal advocates and design experts.
Our goal is to create a meaningful and accessible space where community members can honor their beloved pets and find comfort after loss. Inspired by the symbolism of the Rainbow Bridge, this memorial will serve as a dedicated place for reflection, healing, and connection for anyone who has experienced the passing of a pet. We are designing and engineering a safe, durable bridge structure that will be painted in rainbow colors and enhanced with thoughtful elements such as memorial decorations, message areas, and a space for tributes.
With city approval and careful planning, our team aims to build a long-lasting installation that adds emotional and community value to Elysian Park. Donations will help fund materials, fabrication, installation, safety requirements, paints and protective finishes, and decorative memorial components.
We are asking for community support to bring this vision to life. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will directly help us create a special place for Hoboken’s pet-loving community. Thank you for supporting our work and helping make the Rainbow Bridge Memorial a reality.
