A safe place to live can help a living tradition continue.
I’m Edward Sczudlo, founder of The Maitri Project. We are raising $25,000 toward Gyalrong House at Sera Mey Monastery in southern India—a home for the next generation of monastic scholars and meditators.
For more than six centuries, Sera Mey has carried forward a tradition of Buddhist study and practice. Today, its growing community needs more room to live and learn. The Gyalrong House project envisions 65 rooms supporting more than 100 monks. Eleven apartments are already complete. This fundraiser will contribute toward the remaining housing; $25,000 is this campaign’s goal, not the cost of completing the entire project.
Your gift will help The Maitri Project support construction and housing needs for Gyalrong House. A stable home gives monks the foundation to study, meditate, teach, and serve their community.
This is an organizer-managed fundraiser for The Maitri Project. Funds received will be directed through Maitri toward this project. You can learn about our work and the communities we support at https://themaitriproject.com/#gyalrong-house
