Help Build: Gurudwara Sahib Durham Region - Oshawa

We hope this message finds you in high spirits. We are reaching out to you with an exciting and important initiative that is close to our hearts — Gurudwara Sahib Durham Region - Oshawa, Ontario. We are working towards building a new Gurudwara/Community center in Durham region in Ontario. Our dream Community need is to build a Gurudwara Sahib that not only serves as a place of worship but also stands as a symbol of unity, community, and love. The Gurudwara is going to be built by Sangat's contributions, built for Sangat and owned by Sangat. Currently there is no Gurudwara in vicinity of 40 kms from the city of Oshawa. The Gurudwara Sahib Durham Region/Community center will be built on 1410 Stevenson road, Oshawa. The total building area is approx 10,000 square feet and we are projecting the total cost approx 3.5 to 4 Million CAD including development charges, city deposit, permits and improvements.

Our Progress So Far:

The Durham Sangat had purchased 3 acre land in 2016 with a very small Bungalow situated in it. It has taken few years to get the approval from city of Oshawa for change in use of the land and for site approval. After receiving city approval we are in the process to apply for building permit for construction of new Guru Nanak Seva Community Centre/Gurudwara. We are proud to share that we have already secured around $700,000 in Canadian dollars part of the 1.25 Millon dollars required as down payment, through the generous contributions of our community members which will be used in construction costs. We are also exploring options to get the remaining 2.5 mill mortgage approval from a bank. However, we need your continued support to bring this vision to life.

The Financial Challenge:

While we have made substantial progress, we are faced with the challenge of securing an additional $500,000 to meet the loan approval requirements. Go Fund is one of the option we are pursuing to raise funds.
