Help Build Culture and Community Through Music

As a professional jazz musician, I have experienced first-hand the necessity of playing with people of all backgrounds and experience levels, not to mention in front of an audience! Unfortunately, there aren’t many opportunities for younger people to work on these skills since most jam sessions tend to happen in bars with age restrictions. Recognizing this, I was inspired to create a safe space for musicians of all ages and walks of life to gather and learn from each other through jazz music; as well as a great environment for listeners to experience the joys of music. In May of 2021 the All Ages Jazz Jam was born. We found a home at The Peoples Building in Aurora CO, and for the first eight months I funded the jam out of my own pocket. While I was happy to do this it wasn’t sustainable for me financially. In 2022, I was lucky enough to receive a grant through the Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD) that funded the jam through the year. Due to scheduling conflicts, we are relocating to Fashion Factory at The Stanley Marketplace. This location happens to be just outside of the ACAD, making us ineligible for the same grant. I have seen the jam grow into something way more special than I could have imagined. It has blossomed into a diverse community of musicians and listeners, young and old that I’m privileged to witness and be a part of. The All Ages Jazz Jam has become a staple of the community, and we need your help to keep it going strong. We could not do this without your support! Any funds we raise will be used to pay the house musicians for their time, as well as facilitate community outreach. Thank you so much!!
