A year ago, Conduit existed only as sketches, ideas, and a dream to create something that would invite people to slow down, connect, and experience light in a new way.

Today, that dream is becoming reality.

The main steel structure has been built, and a portion of Conduit was proudly displayed at Element 11, where it gave participants a glimpse of what's to come. Even more exciting, Conduit has been officially accepted for placement at Burning Man 2026.

Now we're in the final phase: transforming a working prototype into the complete interactive installation we envisioned.

What is Conduit?

Conduit is a large-scale illuminated steel sculpture created by Utah metal artist Josh Epperson. Inspired by the pathways that carry energy, Conduit explores the invisible connections between people through light, geometry, and industrial materials.

By day, visitors discover intricate laser-cut steel panels and hidden details woven throughout the structure. By night, hundreds of feet of programmable lighting transform the sculpture into a glowing landmark that invites exploration, reflection, photography, and conversation.

Conduit isn't meant to be viewed from a distance—it's meant to be experienced.

What's Left to Complete?

Thanks to countless volunteer hours, personal investment, and community support, the structural work is largely complete. The remaining work focuses on refining the experience and preparing Conduit for the unique demands of the Black Rock Desert.

Additional programmable lighting to fully illuminate the sculpture

High-capacity battery systems to power the installation throughout the night

Deutsch electrical connectors for durable, weather-resistant wiring that can withstand harsh desert conditions

Lightweight materials to redesign the infinity mirror panels, making them stronger, safer, and easier to transport

Bench cushions and durable outdoor upholstery so participants have a comfortable place to gather, rest, and connect

Final hardware, wiring, and fabrication supplies needed to complete the installation

Every improvement makes Conduit more reliable, more interactive, and more welcoming for the thousands of people who will experience it.
