What We’re Building
ByStander is a proactive safety platform designed to turn everyday people into aware, connected, empowered protectors.
We’re building:
The Risky Workflow
When someone feels unsafe, they hold the “Risky” button.
If they don’t enter their PIN within 10 seconds, their emergency contacts receive:
* A live stream link
* Real-time GPS location
If subscribed, a trained Advocate joins the stream and can escalate to local authorities to prevent violence, trafficking, or assault before it’s too late.
The Law Enforcement Workflow
If someone is stopped by law enforcement:
* They tap the button.
* The app immediately begins recording.
* GPS location is captured.
* Emergency contacts receive a live viewing link.
* Advocates can join and, if escalation occurs, contact the appropriate agency to help de-escalate the situation in real time.
Transparency protects everyone.
The Medical Workflow
Using smartwatch integrations, ByStander monitors heart rate and blood oxygen levels.
If vitals drop below safe thresholds:
* Alerts are triggered.
* Emergency contacts are notified.
* An Advocate attempts a wellness call.
* If no response, emergency services can be dispatched.

Introducing the ByStander Sentinel (2027)
We are now raising funds to build the **ByStander Sentinel Emergency Beacon**.
A small, rechargeable, discreet device that can be triggered silently.
When activated:
* It initiates live listening.
* Captures GPS location.
* Alerts emergency contacts.
* Connects to the ByStander team.
* Enables intervention during kidnappings, trafficking attempts, domestic violence, or abductions.
It is designed to be a life raft for someone who cannot reach their phone.
