Hello! My name is Jishnu Kandalam, and I am a high school senior and a Life Scout with Troop 777 of Northville, MI. For my Eagle Project, I am partnering with Thornton Creek Elementary School to design and install two “Buddy Benches” around the school. These benches will serve as safe and welcoming spaces where students can sit when they are feeling lonely or in need of a friend—encouraging kindness, inclusion, and stronger connections among students.

This project involves more than just placing a bench—it will be built to last, using durable materials like composite wood, metal supports, concrete foundations, and protective finishes. The benches will include decorative touches to make the space even more inviting for children.

Since Eagle Scout projects must be fully community-funded, I am seeking your support to bring this vision to life. All donations will go directly toward the purchase of materials, tools, and supplies needed for construction. Any additional or unused funds raised will be donated back to the school.

This fundraiser will be open for two weeks (9/26/25-10/10/25).

I plan to build and install these benches with help from fellow scouts in October 2025.
