Colette, the visionary behind the iconic 16th Avenue Tiled Steps, has spent the last two decades transforming stairways across San Francisco into breathtaking works of art. Now, she’s bringing her talent home to Bernal to help turn an underused space into a landmark of community pride—and we need your help to make it happen.
Give & Be Recognized in the Artwork with appreciation tiles:
$1,000+
A custom tile handcrafted by Colette featuring the image of your home or a beloved pet, complete with a personal inscription, will be incorporated into the permanent artwork.
$400+
Your name will be inscribed on a flower tile handcrafted by the artist to highlight the natural beauty of the Bernal landscape in the permanent artwork.
$200+
Your name will be inscribed on an artist-made leaf tile which will be woven into the permanent artwork.

- Celebrate the legacy of artists who call Bernal home

- Support the stewardship of local green spaces
Where Your Donation Goes: Your gift will directly fund
- Artist fees for design, fabrication, and installation
- Hands-on workshops where community members help create tiles for the artwork
- Professional installation of the final mosaic public art
Each donor tile will become a permanent part of the mosaic—a lasting tribute to your generosity in the heart of Bernal.
Note: Inscriptions are limited to 10–20 characters depending on space. Photo submission is required for home or pet tiles. The artist reserves the right to interpret the artwork at her discretion.
