Help Build a Safe Roof in Cambodia
Donation protected
Imagine living in a home made from scraps of metal—walls and roof pieced together from what others have discarded. Now imagine the rainy season pouring down, and the roof above you riddled with holes. Everything you own is soaked. Your bed. Your clothes. Your books. Nothing stays dry.
This is the reality for an 18-year-old girl I support in rural Cambodia. She lives with her mother, who does odd jobs just to put food on the table—barely enough to survive. Their home is built from salvaged materials, and with the arrival of the rainy season, the leaking roof has become unbearable. Water pours in during every storm, turning their small living space into a muddy, wet struggle for comfort and dignity.
We have an opportunity to help. By coming together, we can replace their damaged, patchwork roof with one that is sturdy, waterproof, and safe. This simple act can restore hope, health, and security—not just shelter. We’re sharing this campaign as part of our neighborhood’s Fourth of July celebration because we believe in freedom—and that includes freedom from unsafe living conditions. What better way to celebrate our blessings than by helping someone else rise above circumstances beyond their control? Every donation—big or small—makes a difference. Let’s come together and give this young woman and her mother the roof they deserve.
