My sister and I are asking for help for our Dad who lives in Guatemala. My dad developed a blood clot in his brain 15 years ago, which left him in the state of mind where he is not able to take care of himself. The facility we had him in shut down due to noise complaints from the neighbors around, which with little notice sent him to the mental Institute in Guatemala City four hours away from his family. Which breaks our hearts to even know he is in there, if you know my Dad or have ever met my dad. He was very caring, took care of anybody and showed so much gratitude before he got sick. After a month, they call our family to pick him up. Our problem is that my dad‘s home isn’t safe to keep him in so we are trying to build a safety wall around his home so that he doesn’t runaway or hurt anybody, that way it’s easier for my aunts and uncles to help with his everyday needs.
