Meet Manuel, a young boy growing up in a small village in Guatemala. He shares his life with his three siblings—two brothers and one sister—in a home that struggles to provide even the most basic comfort. Manuel’s house has dirt floors. The walls don’t reach the ceiling, leaving gaps that let in wind, rain, and cold air. His kitchen is little more than a crude space, making it difficult for his family to prepare meals safely. There is no internet, no quiet place to study, and barely enough room for essentials—let alone a desk or lamp for schoolwork.

My name is iryna, and I am a nurse who travels to Guatemala on missionary trips. I work at Clinica Ezell and have also visited the village of Santa Maria, where I help at the local feeding center. That’s where I met Manuel and saw firsthand the challenges his family faces every day. Despite these hardships, Manuel is full of heart. He loves helping his father work in the fields, learning the value of hard work at a young age. He also spends time caring for his grandmother, showing a kindness and responsibility far beyond his years. When he has free time, he enjoys playing sports, finding joy wherever he can. His bed is rough, offering little comfort after long days of work and school. But with your help, that can change.

We are raising funds to build Manuel and his family a safe and stable home. This will include proper walls, solid flooring, beds with bedding, and a functional kitchen where meals can be prepared with dignity. A secure home will give Manuel and his siblings a place to rest, grow, and focus on their future.
