For Learning and Play at An Khanh Secondary School
Ben Tre Province, Vietnam
Hi, I'm Max Phan Carter, a rising senior at Wayne Valley High School in New Jersey and a dedicated volunteer with VietCorps, a nonprofit supporting underserved communities in Vietnam.
This August, I will travel to a remote area of the Mekong delta to lead an effort to build a protective roof for a school serving impoverished students. The school lacks shaded, usable space for learning, reading, and physical activities. Harsh weather, i.e. heat over 95°F and frequent heavy rains, limits their outdoor programs and use of a small, overcrowded indoor library.
The Goal:
Raise $2,498.72 to cover materials, labor, and construction for a roof that will shelter a Green Library and activity area. This is a 3-week campaign.
Why It Matters:
- Provides safe space for outdoor reading and physical education
- Supports 428 students in a high-need area
- 100% of donations go directly to the project—no overhead
How You Can Help:
- Donate - Every dollar makes a difference
- Share - Spread the word to your network
Together, we can empower students and educators with the space they need to flourish; rain or shine.
Donate now and help us raise the roof, literally!
With gratitude,
Max P. Carter
