Sagan (9), Nicko (6), and their mom, Jamie will be running the Disney Princess 5K race to raise funds in memory of Sophie and Madigan Lillard, two young sisters who tragically lost their lives in a house fire. Sophie was just 6 years old, and Madigan was 3. After the tragedy, the Lillard family faced not only unimaginable grief, but also the painful realization that they had very few physical reminders of their daughters—only the memories they had created together: days at the playground, family trips to Disney World, and quiet moments of joy.

In response, and inspired by the compassion shown by their community, the Lillards founded Sophie and Madigan’s Playground. Their mission is to honor Sophie and Madigan by creating spaces where children and families can PLAY, LEARN, and CREATE lifelong memories together.
