Tristate Mountain Bike Riders (TMBR) has taken an exciting step forward by securing a lease on land at Park Farm Winery in partnership with the Cushman Family, setting the stage for a new, world-class woodland trail system. This initiative will expand TMBR’s impressive collection of local recreational trails, which already includes Cloie Creek, Interstate Power Preserve, and Proving Grounds. The new facility is a direct response to the growing demand for high-quality trails, especially from the expanding youth mountain bike community. The Dubuque Scholastic Mountain Bike (DSMB) Team, now in its fourth year, boasts 139 athletes between the ages of 6 and 18. As the team grows, practicing at existing Dubuque-area trails has become challenging due to limitations in parking, mileage, and appropriate trail design.
The new trail system at Park Farm will be designed to meet National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) standards, providing a dedicated and appropriate venue for the youth league. This project is not just about building trails—it’s an investment in youth recreation, community health, and local economic growth. In 2024 alone, other Iowa communities like Sioux City and Mason City have made significant investments in mountain bike parks, and TMBR is proud to lead the charge in the Dubuque area.
Funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward trail construction, helping to bring this vision to life. TMBR, a non-profit established ten years ago, has already constructed three trail systems in the Dubuque area and continues to collaborate with local partners to manage these resources. We’re asking our families, friends, and the wider community for support. This trail system will be open to the public and will benefit youth athletes, families, and outdoor enthusiasts for years to come. Your contribution will help build a resource that strengthens our community and supports healthy, active lifestyles.
