In Kankan, Guinea, water is not always a simple turn of a tap.

During the dry season, entire neighborhoods wake before sunrise and walk long distances just to find clean water. Mothers carry heavy containers under the scorching sun. Children miss school to help their families. Elders wait patiently, often exhausted, hoping there will still be water by the time they arrive.

This is the daily reality for many families.

I am starting this GoFundMe with one clear intention: to alleviate thirst, reduce suffering, and restore dignity—starting with a single water well.

Why a Water Well?

Water is life. Without it, everything becomes harder—health, education, work, and faith. A single well can serve hundreds of people daily, transforming an entire community for years to come.

This project is focused on Kankan, where the dry season hits especially hard and access to reliable water becomes a struggle. By building this well, we are not just providing water—we are providing relief, stability, and hope.

The Spiritual Reward of Giving Water

In Islam, giving water is one of the greatest forms of charity.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that the best charity is giving water. Every sip taken, every child quenched, every prayer made near this well becomes a continuous reward (sadaqah jariyah).

And for those who donate on behalf of a loved one who has passed away, this well becomes a lasting source of reward for them. As long as water flows, the reward continues—long after we are gone.

This is a 2-month campaign, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward the construction of the water well.
