Help build a house for Maria

This campaign is for a lady called, Maria. Maria cannot tell her story here, but I can. My name is Peter Stell. I have the privilege of introducing to you the oldest friend I ever had. I have her permission to do so.  She is 86 years old.  She is resilient, humble, kind and has lived through more of her nations history than anyone I know. Yet she lives alone (she is a widow) in a crumbling house in a rural village in, Mityana, Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. The fact is that her house is made of mud and sticks and has stood for an incredible 50 years. It is however, falling apart. That's why I've started this campaign to raise enough money to help build her a BRAND NEW home. It's the boldest and most ambitious project I've ever started. But I completely believe in it. I will be so grateful for your support.

With each rainy season, more and more of Maria's house erodes away. Maria's health and security is eroding like her home is. The reality is that, if the situation doesn't change, she may not make it through a another rainy season, which begins in August/September time. That's why I'm telling this story NOW - it's urgent.

She deserves a better place to live.

I'm not alone in this effort. Maria's entire family supports her with what they can manage. But it is not enough. That is why I am calling upon a much larger community to help. I know it's possible to raise enough money to build Maria the PERFECT home, improving her quality of life significantly. 

The money will be used to construct a permanent brick house designed to the finest detail to meet all of Maria's needs. It's like an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition IN  UGANDA.
