I am building a rock climbing training facility with the goal of bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor climbing. As a climbing instructor for the past 12 years, I’ve seen firsthand how different these two worlds can be for people. My vision is to create a space where climbers cannot only train hard, but also learn and practice essential skills like gear placement, anchor building, and self-rescue in a safe and supportive environment.
So far, I’ve built a couple of walls, including an adjustable system wall and a 20' vertical wall with a dihedral. The weight room for off-wall training is already set up and ready to go. The biggest thing holding us back from starting on-wall training is the padded flooring, which is crucial for safety. Once we have the padding, climbers will be able to use the walls and begin their training journey. There are also plans for four more walls—a boulder cave, crack lines, adjustable slab, and wave wall—which will add even more variety and challenge to the facility.
The first set of pads will cost 7,500 plus shipping. Extra funding will go toward materials like bolts, holds, and gear, as well as some fun swag for the community, such as tanks, hats, and stickers. With your support, I can finish building this facility and provide a place for climbers to learn, grow, and connect. Thank you for helping make this dream a reality!
