Hi, my name is Toby, and I’m fundraising by running the Brighton 10K on April 6th and the Worthing Half Marathon on May 4th to raise funds for Nanning ‘Oi Primary School in Kenya, that I will be volunteering at in June 2025 with my college - Plumpton.
Nanning ‘Oi Primary School serves as a safe haven for girls escaping child marriage and FGM, and I feel truly honored to be part of something that can make a real difference in their lives. Plumpton have been volunteering annually at various schools in Kenya for over 11 years now.
During this trip, we’ll be working on critical projects that will directly improve the daily lives of these students. We will be planting a 1-acre kitchen garden to provide fresh food and creating an outdoor washing area so they can wash and dry their clothes—something they desperately need.
This year, we’ve also been asked to bring essential supplies to support the girls, including soap, reusable period pants (small sizes), and balms for their lips, feet, and dry skin. The harsh sun and wind in the Maasai Mara can be tough, and these small comforts make a big difference.
Every penny donated will go directly toward buying these supplies and funding the kitchen garden and washing area. If you know any suppliers or businesses that can donate soap, reusable period pants, or balms, please reach out.
If you’d like to contribute in any way whether it’s through donations or connections please contact me through gofundme.
