Help Build a Brighter Future in Africa's Biggest Slum
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Josie, I recently traveled to Kenya to document living with a local family in Kibera, which is Africa’s largest slum. The people I met, and stories I heard, left a lasting impression on me. Regularly, viewers ask for ways to support and contribute to the subjects in my documentaries. This is an actionable way that we can support people who need it most.
The Reality
Despite their incredible strength and humanity, many families face an impossible choice: send their children to school or put food on the table. Just 500 Kenyan shillings per month (less than $4 USD) stands between a child and their education. For many families, even this small amount is out of reach.
Grassroots Solutions That Work
Local leaders, teachers, and parents are already building solutions from within. Your donation supports these existing grassroots education initiatives by covering school fees, supplies, and teacher support.
Your Impact
$4 pays for one child's school fees for an entire month
$25 covers supplies and uniform for one student for a year
$60 supports a local teacher's stipend for one month
Why This Matters
Education isn't just about reading and writing. It's about hope, opportunity, and breaking cycles of poverty. When you invest in a child's education in Kibera, you're partnering with a community that has already shown incredible determination.
Thank you for being part of this story.
