This summer has brought unexpected challenges for my household. I work as a paraeducator, but our pay stops during the summer months, and the six-week summer program I relied on for extra income was canceled at the last minute. Now, with no income until mid-September and an eviction notice requiring us to move by September 1, we are facing a critical time. My son, whom we call Bubs, has Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome—a rare and precarious condition that makes it difficult for him to get enough calories. Without the right nutrition, his health is at serious risk. The food bank doesn’t carry the specialized foods he needs, and I am almost out of food and gas money. Friends helped us last month, but resources have run out, and I don’t qualify for much assistance.
We are asking for help to cover food for Bubs’ specialized diet, gas to get to medical appointments and my first day back on the job the last week of August, and anything toward moving expenses. Every bit of support will help us get through this summer safely and give Bubs the care he needs. When we are back on our feet, through the grace of God, we will pay this kindness forward. Thank you for considering our family and for any help you can give. God bless you and yours abundantly.
