Help Bryanna get her father's last name.

Hey everyone, I wish I had more of an update to give in regards to where we are at with the process, but there has been a lot of back and forth with the lawyer with things that were needed etc. which is adding to my balance owing very very quickly.

I am remaining hopeful for more progress very soon

I am once again reaching out for help to keep this long process going.

Hi everyone, I'm Sam,

I'm creating this go fund me for myself and my daughter.

As most of you already know, my partner/ baby's father suddenly passed away when I was 17 weeks pregnant.

A few months back, I received a phone call from Vital Statistics, to inform me that, because Jason wasn't present at the birth to sign the birth registration, and because we weren't married, I will need to have a court ordered DNA test done to prove his paternity,

And to also be able to add him to Bryanna's birth certificate.

Obviously I will do anything to make sure that happens and that my daughter gets to carry her father's last name......

in this case, it means a very complicated legal mess, that I need to get a lawyer's help for.

I was at the end of my maternity leave for my now almost 2 year old when he passed away, with only one month left before having no income, I inevitably ended up on assistance.

Because he isn't on her birth certificate, I cant receive the child's survivors benefits for her, and can only get back time for up to 11 months. This is food off of my 4 kids table.

I already reached out to legal aid and they cant help me, and I cannot afford to pay a lawyer on my own..

I am creating this go fund me to ask you all to help me. Im not one to usually ask for help, but right now, I can't make this happen on my own, they say it takes a village, Im asking for help from mine.
