Bruce Newborn, UTLA Valley West Area Chair and teacher at Hale Middle School, needs our assistance. As you probably know, his beautiful wife Susie was diagnosed with brain and lung tumors while visiting her grandchildren in Houston. She needed immediate surgery and chemo/radiation follow-through. Luckily, the hospital she's at is one of the leading cancer centers in the country, so the decision was that she would stay in Houston for treatment, which will take months.

Unfortunately, Bruce needed to leave his wife there, and come back to Los Angeles to teach. He's trying to fly back to Houston every other week to be with Susie. But with the current cost of airfare, along with now having only one income, this places a severe financial burden on them.

Both Susie and Bruce need to be with each other for both of their mental and physical well-being. And we need to help them accomplish that.
