UPDATED August 2025
Brooke has made the difficult decision to sell their house. She has found an affordable apartment assuming Greg pays child support (which he has yet to do, though the court ordered him to start this month). This is a huge step forward toward a new life for Brooke and Tori, but it has also put more stress on Brooke in terms of finances until the house sells.

Brooke and her three-year-old daughter, Tori, are facing a critical turning point. After leaving a financially abusive marriage, Brooke is fighting to separate her finances from her soon-to-be ex and provide for her three-year-old daughter Tori.
Despite working hard and making careful financial choices, Brooke’s income barely covers their monthly expenses. Her husband, Greg, who earns significantly more, has not made court-ordered payments on joint debt, has purposely put their joint bank account into the red, and now isn't paying the court-ordered child support. This last factor leaves Brooke unable to pay the mortgage on the house where she and Tori are living until it sells. It also leaves Brooke without the funds to put the security deposit on the apartment she and Tori will move into next month. Her car (the only form of transportation for both Brooke and Tori) is in need of repairs, making it difficult to drive longer than 30 minutes or so. The repairs will also avoid further damage to the vehicle.
Brooke has been beside herself trying to come up with the funds to compensate for Greg's lack of support. She is of course going through her attorney to force the issue, but certain things have deadlines.
Greg was ordered to make payments on a joint consolidated loan during their separation, which he has not done. He was also ordered to pay for the insurance on Brooke's car, which he has stopped, leaving Brooke without insurance for a short time. He has purposely put their joint bank account into the red, and he has even had an eye care bill sent in Brooke's name to their house. The financial abuse is astounding, especially as he makes almost FIVE TIMES as much as Brooke. He has also made his own debt explode since they separated.
Brooke is known for her positivity and uplifting spirit. She’s a dedicated church member, a former youth minister, and a loyal friend who loves board games and spending time with loved ones. Tori is a bundle of energy who loves Paw Patrol, Bluey, and playing with her Little People houses. Their bond is strong, and Brooke is learning every day how to support and guide Tori with love. Your support will help them begin rebuilding their lives with hope and security.
For this fundraiser, we are trying to raise the money to help Brooke with two things:
1. Much-needed repairs on her car ($1200)
2. The security deposit for her apartment OR her mortgage ($1300)
Any overage will be applied to:
1. One month of car insurance ($150)
2. Repairs to her current house to prepare it for sale
We appreciate all of your support!
PS: "Brooke" and "Tori" are not their real names. They currently have a protective order in place against Greg and as Brooke's friends, we want to ensure their safety.
