Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

I’m reaching out to ask for your help on behalf of my niece, Brittany, and her husband, Travis. On the night of Saturday, August 17th, Brittany was awoken around midnight to a nightmare scenario—a fire had broken out in their home due to faulty wiring connected to a space heater in the bathroom.

Brittany has been holding down the fort while Travis is deployed overseas, and when the fire broke out, she acted swiftly and bravely. She managed to get their beloved cat and dog (Titty and Maple) out of the house and even put out the fire before the fire department arrived. Unfortunately, despite her efforts, the damage to their home is severe.

The fire, being electrical in nature, has left the house uninhabitable. The walls need to be taken apart and redone, and there is extensive smoke damage throughout. As they work with the insurance company to assess and repair the damage, Brittany needs immediate funds to secure new living arrangements and begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.

This is an incredibly difficult time for Brittany and Travis. Brittany is managing everything on her own while Travis is overseas, and the stress of losing their home on top of that is overwhelming. We are hoping to raise $10000 to help Brittany get established in a safe, temporary home while repairs are made and to cover any other unexpected expenses that arise during this challenging time.
