My name is Kaii, and Im making this gofundme on behalf of my wife Laineys siblings, Brittany and Nick.

Brittany and Nick are my wifes older siblings. The two of them currently live in a small town in the Florida. Brittany is disabled and has suffered from End-Stage Renal Disease for almost all of her life. She currently goes to dialysis three times a week as part of her treatment. Because of her disabilities, she is unable to work. She is also, to an extent, mentally stunted because of this. This is important to note after what has recently happened to her, and the reason we are making this Gofundme.

Since Brittany requires a caretaker, her and Nick lived with their mother, and their mothers husband. Their mother passed away in October 2024 after a decade long battle with leukemia. The two of them continued to live with their mothers husband after this. However, it has very quickly become a very unsafe place for them to stay.

Their mothers husband has a history of violence, alcoholism, and sexual abuse. He sexually assaulted my wife when she was a child, but he faced no consequences for this. Their mother convinced my wife not to file a police report, saying they depending on his income for Brittanys medical expenses.

Now that their mom has passed away, he has attempted to make sexual advances at Brittany, saying he was "getting signals" from her, someone he helped raise since she was a child. After Brittany denied this advances, she was able to flee their home and is currently residing short term with friends. This man is now refusing to allow her on to their property unless he is present.

Brittany and Nick bother desperately need to find a new safe place to live. They do not have any family that is able to take them in long term. The goal is to raise money for the two of them to move together so they can be safe, and away from this monster. Ideally, my wife and I would like them to leave Florida and move to the city we reside in in North Carolina. However, they do have family in Florida that they could move near if we are unable to get them to NC. They are also looking at the option of purchasing a working RV to live in.

Because of Brittanys kidney failure, we are also faced with the additional challenge of gathering all medical records, and transferring her to another hospital or other medical facility to continue her much needed dialysis. Because of this there is no solid plan or timeline for their move, though we are hoping for it to happen as quickly as possible.
