Support Pepe Franchini Vasquez and His Community in the Remote Village on the Ucayali River
We are honored to work with Pepe Franchini Vasquez, a renowned shaman featured in the Netflix documentary The Last Shaman. Pepe resides in a remote village on the Ucayali River, located deep in the Peruvian Amazon, near Pucallpa. The village is accessible only by boat, and the journey takes four hours from the nearest city.
The people of this remote village on the Ucayali River are currently facing severe challenges due to the lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities. The absence of a reliable water supply and functional toilets places a heavy burden on the community’s health, hygiene, and overall well-being. Basic necessities that many of us take for granted are a daily struggle for them.
Our Goal
We are seeking your support to help improve the living conditions for the Shipibo people in Pepe's community. With your donations, we aim to provide clean water supplies and sanitary toilet facilities, making life in the remote village on the Ucayali River healthier, safer, and more comfortable for the people who live there.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
To achieve our goal, we need to purchase and install the following essential equipment and materials:
Water Tank: A storage tank for clean water to ensure a reliable water supply for the community.
Centrifugal Pump: A pump used to move water from the tank to where it’s needed.
Installation Services: Professional installation of the water system and other equipment.
Generator: A power generator to provide electricity for the water pump and other essential devices.
Dry Bathrooms (4): Four eco-friendly, dry sanitation facilities to improve hygiene and reduce water usage.
Chainsaw: A chainsaw for cutting wood, which may be needed for construction or maintenance purposes.
Impact of Your Support
Every contribution will go directly to improving water access and sanitation infrastructure for this isolated village. By coming together, we can ensure a better quality of life for Pepe and his fellow villagers, who have preserved and shared their ancient wisdom with the world.
Once the project is completed, we will create a video documenting the improvements we’ve made together. The local people will be incredibly grateful, and you will receive many blessings from the community for helping them gain access to clean water and sanitation—things that will greatly improve their quality of life.
Make a Lasting Difference
Your generosity, no matter the amount, will make a real and lasting impact. Thank you for helping us support this vital cause.
