Help Bring Vital Healthcare to Peru's Underserved

Hi all! Two years ago I joined Global Health Volunteers on a 2-week medical mission trip to Chulucanas, Peru. This nonprofit organization primarily works by recruiting and sending healthcare professionals—such as doctors, nurses, and other medical workers—to underserved communities and developing countries. Their efforts include providing medical care, health education, and training to local healthcare providers. GHV aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure, promote health awareness, and support sustainable health improvements in the regions they serve. Some of the projects I was personally involved in included setting up traveling primary care clinics in rural mountain towns in the Andes and assisting in the OR as surgeons performed life changing surgeries. One of my favorite memories was witnessing the amazement that a 72-year old Peruvian woman experienced using reading glasses for the first time!

I had such a wonderful experience serving that I’ve decided to go back this year in October. This time I am asking for help fundraising, as costs for everything continue to rise - the funds will go to medical supplies, transportation and lodging of volunteers, contributions for food and lodging while on site, and whatever else is needed to make this mission a success.
