Anima is a community of female-identified artists creating original ritual theater that explores transformation, emotional truth, and the power of collective experience. Through movement, story, symbolism, and immersive performance, we guide audiences through powerful emotional journeys—descent, release, renewal, and return.
Our work centers perspectives often overlooked in modern culture: embodiment, relational awareness, intuition, and cyclical thinking. By placing female-identified artists at the creative center, we cultivate a collaborative process grounded in listening, shared leadership, and emotional depth. This microcosm of Anima represents what is possible in a future built on feminine wisdom, insight, and generativity.
Ritual theater is more than entertainment. It creates a space where people can process change, grief, uncertainty, and hope together. In a time when many feel isolated, overstimulated, and disconnected from meaningful communal experiences, these shared containers matter.
Anima’s performances invite audiences not just to watch, but to feel, reflect, and recognize parts of their own inner journeys in the stories unfolding on stage.
This Labor of Love Has Financial Costs
To cover these costs and to compensate the working artists who create specifically for this venue, we ask for your contributions.

What Your Donation Helps Pay For:
Anima has been made possible for over a decade by the sweat equity and contributions of time, expertise, and creative brilliance of its members and visiting artists. As we seek to make this venture more sustainable, we need the help of the community that has supported our work for two or three shows per year since 2016.
Your donations of any amount will support:
- Rehearsal space
- Theater rental
- Anima merchandise design and manufacturing
- Anima Labs (community creativity/performance workshops led by Anima core contributors; your support will increase access to all, regardless of ability to pay)
- Time and expertise of Anima’s Director and Stage Manager
