Sophia is my friend and employee, a talented graphic designer and student from Colombia who came to the U.S. with big dreams. She followed every rule, worked hard, studied, and paid taxes, determined to build a better future for herself and contribute to her community. In the summer of 2025, her life was turned upside down when she was wrongfully deported due to an immigration error. Outdated information about a family member led to her detention and deportation, even though she had done everything right. Authorities later admitted the mistake, but by then, Sophia’s visa was invalidated, and she lost her education, job, and home.
Sophia isn’t a statistic or “just another case”, she’s a real person who deserves the chance to continue the life she was building here. I’m asking for your help, whether that’s donating, sharing, or simply sending good wishes. Everything helps. Thank you for supporting Sophia and helping us bring her home. If you have questions, I’m fully transparent and happy to answer anything.
Why We’re Raising Funds
With help from the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC), we finally found a viable path forward to bring her back to continue her studies and rebuild her life. I’ve already arranged safe housing for her with trusted friends here in the U.S. Now we just need to cover the remaining costs so she can safely return and restart school at Full Sail University.
Every donation goes directly to Sophia, not to an organization, not to me.
