For over twenty years, Pablo Blancas called the United States his home. He built a life here, married a U.S. citizen, and lovingly took on the role of stepfather to her two daughters, Kassandra and Alisa. In 2013, Pablo and his wife welcomed their own daughter, Delila, completing their family.
Pablo shared every responsibility of parenthood with his wife working hard to provide for their family, helping with school, and giving their daughters a stable, loving home. But in 2023, a tragedy happened when his wife suddenly passed away. That day, Delila was at school when she received the heartbreaking news that her mother had died. Overnight, Pablo became a single father to a 10-year-old girl while still supporting his grieving stepdaughters.
Even in his own grief, Pablo stayed strong for his children. He worked any job he could find to make ends meet buying school clothes, providing meals, and making sure Delila continued to smile through her pain. He also cared for his father-in-law, who had suffered a stroke a year earlier and was now struggling with cognitive decline. Despite the enormous challenges, Pablo never gave up. He was determined to keep his family together.
Then, in 2025, their world fell apart once more. While working at a job site on Glenlake and Artesian in Chicago, Pablo was detained by ICE. He had been trying to stay hidden while still earning enough to care for his family, but now he was suddenly gone. Three years after losing her mother, Delila once again received devastating news while at school, this time, that her father had been taken away.
Pablo is now being held in El Paso, Texas, fighting for the chance to remain in the U.S. with his daughter and continue caring for his ailing father-in-law.
We are raising funds to hire an immigration lawyer, secure stable housing, and cover basic living expenses for Delila and her grandfather as they face this painful and uncertain time. Every donation, no matter how small, helps this family hold onto hope and stay together. Your prayers, support, and kindness mean more than words can express.
A sincere thank you for helping Pablo and his family through this heartbreaking journey.
