Our hearts are heavy as we share that our mother, Sandra, was recently detained by immigration. This sudden and painful event has turned our lives upside down. We never imagined we’d be in this position again, we are trying to hold our family together while fighting to bring our mom back home where she belongs.
Our mom has lived in the United States for more than three decades. This country is all she knows. She’s a part of our community, a constant presence in our lives, and the heart of our family. Her absence has left a deep hole in our everyday lives, one that’s hard to put into words.
Right now, we are working urgently to secure legal representation for her. She has a court hearing scheduled for June 24, and it is critical that her attorney is able to appear and represent her at that time. We are doing everything we can to gather the funds to make that possible.
The money raised will go directly toward hiring a trusted immigration lawyer to fight for her release, covering court and legal fees, helping our family manage basic living expenses in her absence, and covering any travel costs if we need to be present at her hearing or visit her.
This has been one of the most difficult moments of our lives, but we believe in the strength of community and in the power of prayer. Con el corazón en la mano compartimos que nuestra madre, Sandra, fue recientemente detenida por inmigración. Esta situación tan dolorosa y repentina ha cambiado nuestras vidas por completo. Nunca imaginamos estar en esta posición, luchando por mantenernos fuertes como familia mientras tratamos de traer a nuestra mamá de regreso a casa, donde pertenece.
Nuestra madre ha vivido en los Estados Unidos por más de tres décadas. Este país es su hogar. Es parte de esta comunidad, una presencia constante en nuestras vidas, y el corazón de nuestra familia. Su ausencia ha dejado un vacío inmenso que es difícil poner en palabras.
Actualmente estamos trabajando con urgencia para conseguir representación legal para ella. Tiene una audiencia en la corte programada para el 24 de junio, y es fundamental que su abogado pueda presentarse y representarla ese día. Estamos haciendo todo lo posible para reunir los fondos necesarios para que eso sea posible.
Lo recaudado se usará directamente para contratar a un abogado de inmigración confiable que luche por su liberación, cubrir los gastos legales y judiciales, apoyar a nuestra familia en los gastos básicos mientras ella no está, y también para cualquier gasto de viaje en caso de tener que visitarla o asistir a su audiencia.
Este ha sido uno de los momentos más difíciles que hemos enfrentado, pero creemos profundamente en la fuerza de la comunidad y en el poder de la oración.
