Help Bring Our Dad Home
My father has called the United States home for over 20 years. Originally from Canada, he has spent the last 21 years here as a green card holder, building a life and raising his family.
In January, he was stopped by immigration at the Charlotte airport while returning from a vacation. At that time, he was allowed to return home but was instructed to report to Washington, D.C. on March 2nd. When he attended that scheduled meeting, he was taken into custody. Despite having a green card and a decades-old misdemeanor that had already been resolved, he is now facing a court process regarding his immigration status. He is currently being held at the Farmville detention center, facing possible deportation, with a court date scheduled for April 24th.
My family has been torn apart. My younger siblings miss their dad every single day, and we are doing everything we can to bring him home where he belongs.
The legal costs to fight this are overwhelming, and we cannot do it alone. We are asking for any support you can give to help cover his legal fees and help keep our family together.
Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
