On Sunday morning, June 22nd, our father, Uncle Ed, was detained by ICE in Tampa, Florida. He was taken without warning and later transferred to a detention center in Miami. Since then, our family has been doing everything we can to stay strong, stay connected to him, and fight for his release.
We’ve been able to speak with him a few times — but he remains in custody, separated from us, and still waiting for the opportunity to appear before a judge.
Our dad is not a criminal. He has no criminal record. He is here legally. He’s a hardworking man who has spent years building a life in this country, providing for his family, and being a kind, humble, and deeply faithful person. His detention is not based on any wrongdoing — it is the result of a broken immigration system that too often dehumanizes people instead of hearing their stories.
Our family is heartbroken, but we are not staying silent. We are raising funds to help us:
• Hire and retain an immigration attorney
• Pay for travel to attend hearings and visit him in Miami
• Cover phone calls and commissary to stay connected
• Provide emergency support while our dad is unable to work
• File paperwork, translate documents, and meet legal deadlines
We are sharing this story publicly because our father deserves due process and dignity, just like anyone else. We are not asking for special treatment — only for a fair chance to bring him home.
If you can donate, share, or pray for our family, we thank you with all our hearts. Every act of kindness matters.
