Hello, my name is Kuteesa (aka Tessa ), and together with my husband Kevin, we have been blessed with four beautiful children. We were married in 2006 and soon after relocated to sunny Zimbabwe, where we spent several joyful years raising our growing family.
During our time there, we felt a strong calling to expand our family through adoption. In 2017, we welcomed our baby girl into our lives, followed by our precious little boy in 2019. Both joined our family when they were just weeks old, and they have known no other parents but us.
In 2022, after much prayer and consideration, we made the decision to return to England. Our two biological sons were able to relocate with us smoothly — but heartbreakingly, our adopted children have not yet been granted entry into the UK.
The Challenge
To be reunited as a complete family, we are required to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility for each adopted child through our local authority and an international adoption agency. The total cost of the legal and adoption process is approximately £23400.
This includes:
- International legal and agency fees
- Required UK registration and immigration processing
Unfortunately, these fees are beyond our current financial capacity, and this prolonged separation is incredibly distressing — especially for our adopted children, who are still very young and cannot understand why they can’t be with their mummy, daddy, and brothers.
The cost breakdown is as follows:
- Information session- £330
- Initial Interview- £510
- Assessment Stage 1- £6,700
- Assessment Stage 2- £6,640
- First Year Post Approval Assessment- £3,500
Additional service charges to the Department of Education is £2,500 per child.
They are separated from the only family they’ve ever known — and every day apart is filled with questions, tears, and emotional strain on all sides.
How You Can Help
We are humbly asking for your help to raise £23, 400 so we can finalise the U.K adoption process and bring our babies home where they belong.
Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to being whole again.
We promise to:
Keep you updated on our journey and progress
Share milestones as we move through each step of the process
Remain deeply grateful for every ounce of support
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing our story with others who may be able to help.
From Our Family to Yours – Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting. We long for the day when we can update this page with a photo of all four of our children reunited — safe, loved, and together.
With love and gratitude,
Tessa, Kevin, and family
