My family and I are raising funds to help bring our 97-year-old grandfather back to the United States after years of being apart. Due to health complications, he was unable to return to the U.S. within the required one-year period, which unfortunately led to the loss of his permanent residency.

He’s currently living in his hometown in Peru and is now in the process of applying for a Returning Resident Visa (SB-1). This involves a DS-117 application, a medical exam, three separate trips to Lima, and ultimately a one-way flight and luggage to return home.

Each step of this journey comes with its own cost, and while our family is doing all we can to cover the expenses, we’re humbly asking for support from our community to help make this possible. We estimate that $2,500 to $3,000 will be needed to cover application fees, medical exams, travel expenses, and final relocation costs.

This is about more than just documents and logistics — it’s about giving our grandfather the chance to spend his final years surrounded by the family who loves him. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have waited and prayed for this day for so long. This is our final opportunity to bring him back home.

Mi familia y yo estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar a traer de regreso a nuestro abuelo de 97 años a los Estados Unidos, después de haber estado separado de nosotros durante varios años. Debido a complicaciones de salud, no pudo regresar dentro del período permitido de un año, lo que lamentablemente resultó en la pérdida de su residencia permanente.
