We’re Donna and Fee, hospitality professionals, educators, craftspeople, history nerds, and founders of Northern Realms.
For over three years, we’ve brought Viking-style axe throwing and archery to festivals, schools, and events across the UK.
Now, we’re ready to raise our banners and build something permanent:
A fully immersive, off-grid Viking village, on our own land in Yorkshire.
This is already happening.
Norðheim is not a dream sitting on paper waiting for “one day.” It is already being built, piece by piece, through The Elderwood Project, Northern Realms, and every step we take toward creating something real.
Our reclaimed wood workshop is growing, materials are being saved and prepared, and traditional skills are already being taught through hands-on experiences. Our first Rune Crafting & Consecration Workshops sold out almost immediately, proving that people are not just interested in the idea, they want to be part of it.
Northern Realms continues to fund the bigger vision through Viking axe throwing, archery, and immersive events across the UK, while every booking, every workshop, and every piece of reclaimed timber helps push Norðheim closer to reality.
We are actively viewing land, planning the first builds, and preparing for the moment we can finally put the first posts in the ground.
This is not a fantasy.
It is work. It is sawdust. It is late nights, long drives, stubbornness, and belief.
And it is happening.

What We’re Building:
A self-sufficient Viking-style village and campsite
- Off-grid huts, fire pits, long hall, and sacred gathering spaces
- Archery and axe throwing ranges
- Crafting areas for shield making, rune carving, and blacksmithing
- A community for Norse pagans, bush crafters, history-lovers, and wild spirits
- Educational visits for schools and home schoolers
- Seasonal rituals, storytelling feasts, and cultural events
Why We Need Your Help
We’re raising funds to buy our own 3-5 acres of land in Yorkshire — a place we can shape from the ground up into a living Viking settlement. We’ve already built the business, the brand, the tools, and the fire — now we need the land to plant it all in.
Your donations will help us:
- Purchase suitable land with space for buildings, forest, and ritual zones
- Begin Phase One of Norðheim: huts, campsite, fire circle, and crafting shelters
- Establish compost systems, firewood stores, and water access
- Acquire animals, fencing, and basic infrastructure
- Bring Norðheim to life, sustainably, independently, and with community at its core
