My wife fled Venezuela after the country’s economic collapse made it nearly impossible to survive. Basic necessities like food and medicine were scarce, and stable work opportunities disappeared. She left behind her home and family because she believed coming to the United States was her only chance at safety and a future.
When she crossed the border, she did not try to hide or evade authorities. She voluntarily turned herself in to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol because she wanted to follow the legal process the right way from the very beginning.
Since that day, she has complied with every requirement placed on her. She attended every immigration court hearing and every ICE check-in without missing a single appointment. She has no criminal record.
While her case has been pending, she worked legally with a valid work permit and Social Security number. She held a full-time job at Walmart, helped support our household, and contributed to her community. She was also taking ESL classes to improve her English and continue building her life here.
We built a loving and stable home together in Texas. We also have an I-130 petition currently in process, and we have been doing everything by the book.
Right now, she is being detained. Overnight, our lives were turned upside down. The emotional strain, the uncertainty, and the financial pressure have been overwhelming.
All funds raised will go directly toward attorney fees, hiring a bond lawyer to fight for her release, and placing money on her communication account and commissary so we can stay connected while she is in detention.
She did everything the right way. She followed the rules. She worked hard. She built a life rooted in family and responsibility. We are not asking for special treatment only a fair chance to continue fighting her case and keep our family together.

Mi esposa huyó de Venezuela después de que el colapso económico del país hiciera casi imposible sobrevivir. Dejó atrás su hogar y a su familia porque creyó que venir a los Estados Unidos era su única oportunidad de tener seguridad y un futuro.
Cuando cruzó la frontera, no intentó esconderse ni evadir a las autoridades. Se entregó voluntariamente a la Patrulla Fronteriza de los Estados Unidos porque quiso hacer las cosas correctamente desde el principio y seguir el proceso legal.
Desde ese día, ha cumplido con todos los requisitos que le han impuesto. Asistió a cada audiencia en la corte de inmigración y a cada cita con ICE sin faltar a ninguna. No tiene antecedentes penales.
Mientras su caso ha estado pendiente, trabajó legalmente con un permiso de trabajo válido y número de Seguro Social. Tuvo un empleo de tiempo completo en Walmart, ayudó a sostener nuestro hogar y contribuyó a su comunidad. También estaba tomando clases de ESL para mejorar su inglés y seguir construyendo su vida aquí.
