My name is Nallely Valles Santos and today I want to open my heart to share the injustice situation that my family is going through.
My husband has been held in ICE custody since April 14, despite having no criminal record and being in the process of lawfully obtaining residency.
We live in El Paso, Texas, where we have built our home and where we are fighting to get ahead.
From that moment on, our life changed completely. They have been months of frustration, anguish and pain, facing a situation that we never imagined living.
We are parents of two little girls and I am currently 35 weeks pregnant. My pregnancy is considered high risk because I have a low placenta, so it requires care, medical surveillance and a lot of attention.
In the midst of this situation, I must also take care of my two daughters and face all the responsibilities of our family alone.
My oldest daughter is 3 years old and has been diagnosed with autism level 3 (severe), so she requires constant attention, therapies, medical appointments and a high level of supervision every day. Her condition makes family stability and the presence of both parents very important for her well-being and development.
In addition, we are completely alone in El Paso. We have no relatives who can support us or help us with the care of our daughters. I am originally from Denver, Colorado, and my whole family is there. Due to the distance, I don't have a nearby support network that can help me face this very difficult situation.
Since my husband was arrested, I have had to assume all the responsibilities of the household alone. In addition to taking care of my two daughters, attending the therapies and medical appointments of my oldest daughter, and taking care of my high-risk pregnancy.
My husband's absence has not only affected us emotionally, but also economically. He was a fundamental support for our family, both in the care of our daughters and in the sustenance of the home. In these three months I have had to face on my own the payment of rent, basic services, food, transportation, expenses related to my pregnancy, my daughter's special needs and the costs of the lawyer who is taking my husband's case.
Being in the final stage of my pregnancy, with 35 weeks of gestation and a high-risk condition, while facing this situation without the support of my husband and without close relatives, has been very difficult physically, emotionally and economically. My biggest concern is to be able to support myself well for my daughters, to receive my baby in the best possible way and to continue giving my oldest daughter the care she needs.
Every day has been a struggle to get ahead. As a mother, my highest priority is to protect my daughters, provide them with stability and ensure that they do not lack the indispensable. However, facing all this alone has been a very big burden.
After looking for different alternatives, the only option I found was to create this fundraiser to ask for help.
It's not easy for me to do it, but today I need to think about the well-being of my daughters and keeping our family together.
With great humility I want to ask for the support of my people from my hometown and all over the world and hearted people. I trust that there are still many supportive people who are willing to help those who are going through difficult times. Any contribution, no matter how small, means a lot to us.
Even 1 dollar can make a difference and help us cover the most urgent expenses while we continue to fight for the
Reunification of our family.
If at this time it is not possible to make a donation, I would also be deeply grateful if you could share our story. Help us spread this message
It is also a very valuable way to support us.
Thank you with all my heart for taking the time to read our story, for your prayers, for your solidarity and for any help you can give us. My family and I will be eternally grateful for every sign of support during this difficult moment.
I am currently not working and I been covering my house expenses with our last savings.
May God bless you and reward you for your generosity.
