I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help. My brother has been held in an ICE detention center for the past three months, and we are in urgent need of funds to cover legal fees that could help bring him back home where he belongs.

We live in Dallas, Texas and my brother was brought to the United States when he was just six months old. This country is the only home he knows. He grew up here, went to school here, made friends and built a life here. He has nothing to return to in Mexico. For him, being deported would mean being sent to a country that’s completely unfamiliar and unsafe.

We’ve tried to do everything right. We’ve put our trust in lawyers who we believed would help, but sadly we’ve been misled and have already lost money that we couldn’t afford to lose. Now, we’re turning to our community to help us get proper legal representation before it’s too late.

Les escribimos con el corazón en la mano para pedir su ayuda. Mi hermano ha estado detenido en un centro de detención de ICE durante los últimos tres meses, y necesitamos con urgencia fondos para cubrir los honorarios legales que podrían ayudarlo a regresar a casa, donde pertenece.

Vivimos en Dallas, Texas, y él fue traído a Estados Unidos cuando tenía solo seis meses de edad. Este país es el único hogar que conoce. Aquí creció, fue a la escuela, hizo amigos y formó su vida. No tiene nada a lo que regresar en México. Para él, ser deportado significaría ser enviado a un país completamente desconocido e inseguro.

Hemos tratado de hacer todo correctamente. Confiamos en abogados que creímos que nos ayudarían, pero lamentablemente nos han engañado y ya hemos perdido dinero que no podíamos permitirnos perder. Ahora recurrimos a nuestra comunidad para poder conseguir una representación legal adecuada antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
