My name is Vanessa Avila, and I am creating this GoFundMe for my brother, Miguel Avila, who was recently detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). On the morning of April 28th, my brother was detained in Montana while he was working. Our family’s life changed unexpectedly in an instant, and we are now facing one of the most difficult moments we have ever experienced.

My brother is a loving husband, devoted father, and loyal friend. He is kind, hardworking, and selfless, and he does not deserve to be going through these circumstances. He has lived in the United States for over 17 years and has always worked tirelessly to provide for his family and build a better life. My brother is the backbone of his family. He and his wife are raising three children and are also expecting a baby girl this September. His detention has left our entire family heartbroken, terrified, and struggling to navigate this painful and uncertain situation.

His children miss him deeply every single day. Like all of us, they just want him to come back home safely. It has been heartbreaking for our entire family to witness their pain. More than anything, we just want my brother to come home to his family and be able to hold his children again.

As we fight to support him and bring stability to his family during this time, we are facing overwhelming legal fees, household expenses, and financial stress from these unexpected expenses and circumstances. We are doing everything we can to stay strong and support one another as a family. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean more to us than words can express. Mi hermano es un esposo amoroso, un padre dedicado y un amigo leal. Es una persona trabajadora, noble y siempre dispuesta a ayudar a los demás. No merece estar pasando por esta situación. Ha vivido en Estados Unidos por más de 17 años y siempre ha trabajado muy duro para sacar adelante a su familia y construir una mejor vida para sus hijos. Mi hermano es el sostén de su familia. Él y su esposa están criando a sus tres hijos y también esperan la llegada de una bebé en septiembre. Su detención ha dejado a toda nuestra familia con el corazón roto, llenos de miedo y tratando de sobrellevar esta situación tan dolorosa e incierta.

Sus hijos lo extrañan muchísimo todos los días. Como todos nosotros, ellos solo quieren que vuelva a casa sano y salvo. Ha sido muy doloroso para toda nuestra familia ver su tristeza. Más que nada, queremos que mi hermano regrese con su familia y pueda volver a abrazar a sus hijos.

Mientras hacemos todo lo posible por apoyarlo y mantener a su familia estable durante este proceso, estamos enfrentando gastos legales, gastos del hogar y mucho estrés económico debido a todos estos gastos y circunstancias inesperadas.
