Help Bring Mercutio: A Musical Concept to PRIDEFEST NYC!
Hi everyone — Gregor and Easton here!
We are thrilled to share that Mercutio: A Musical Concept, Gregor’s original musical, has been selected to be part of the Off-Broadway Summer Festival PRIDEFEST at The Tank in New York City this summer!
We can’t wait to bring this show to life and continue developing the piece. However, independently producing theatre — especially new work — comes with significant costs. That’s why we’re asking for your support!
Your donations will help us:
- Rent rehearsal space in New York City
- Host a developmental lab process
- Provide stipends for our actors and crew who are bringing this story to life
About the Show:
What if the greatest love story in the world was a lie — and the real tragedy was a love so tangled it destroyed them all?
The story of Romeo & Juliet you know is not true — and Mercutio is here to tell you what really happened.
"Mercutio and the band from Verona are in NYC for TWO NIGHTS ONLY, telling the TRUE story of the infamous star-crossed lovers through their debut album."
Mercutio: A Musical Concept is a modern reimagining of Romeo & Juliet, told through original music inspired by alternative, indie, folk, and musical theatre genres.
This piece was previously workshopped at the historic Springer Opera House in Georgia — and now it's headed to New York City!
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to celebrating Pride season with a brand-new story centered around love, identity, and liberation.
If you prefer to donate anonymously, you’re welcome to do so — just check the box on GoFundMe.
Thank you for supporting queer art, new musicals, and young artists taking big swings. We can’t wait to share Mercutio with you.
Happy Pride!
– Gregor Patti and Easton Michaels
(Gregor wants to especially thank all of the beautiful artists that were a part of the first workshop at the Springer Opera House, and cannot wait to work with them again on this piece they have already given so much time too!)
