Well, friends, it's time to bring Mama Blue home. We knew this was coming down the road, but with the political climate the way that it is, our timeline has accelerated. She has spent the last two years in Ohio, but it has been so hard to be a long distance family, and it's time to unite again.
Her health is another factor. Her vision is deteriorating, her body is feeling the effects of her chemo from 10 years ago, not to mention sustaining multiple head injuries, and she needs support. We got through the financial strain of her cancer treatment, relocation, and dad's passing on our own, but it's time to call in the community. We need funds to move all of her belongings cross-country, including her car, and to build a space for her in our family home.
We are planning to transform our basement into a living space for her, and we are hoping to reach $6,000 to cover these costs.
We also will need help doing the physical work, so anyone who would be willing to help with moving boxes, putting up drywall, electrical work etc, that would be amazing! We will be having a couple of work days on the weekend of 5/16-18 and 6/6-8, where we will be building in the walls in the basement and doing the manual labor portions. All hands on deck!
Blue has been such a beautiful source of friendship and support to our family, her friends, and to everyone in her communities whose lives she’s touched over the years. From raising her kids into kind, thoughtful adults, being a beloved nanny four countless families, supporting her aunt through her twilight chapter and end of life transition, not to mention all the love she’s poured into her friends. This time, we have the opportunity to show Blue some of the love and support that she’s spent her life pouring into us. Please join us in donating to her go fund me to help us bring her home. If you’re unable to donate, you can help by donating handiwork skills, and by sharing her story with folks in your community who may be able to help. Thank you for supporting Blue, and helping us show her the love she’s shared with us.
