Hi, my name is Daniela Ubeda. I’m starting this on behave of my husband Jose Gustavo Ubeda Melgara. On 2/15/26 my husband had a last minute appointment that came up for ICE. We went together, and I came home alone without my husband. ICE officials told me that they were detaining him until his court. My husband came here for a better life, he’s a hardworking and the most honest individual I’ve ever encountered. We are in the process of filling change of status for him through our marriage, our last step is completing his medical exam which we can longer do without him released. I am living in fear that all of the time and money we spent to get here is slowly disappearing. I am asking for help from any family, friends, my community to help with any future lawyer fees to help bring my husband home.

Hola, me llamo Daniela Ubeda. Estoy iniciando esto por el parte de mi esposo, José Gustavo Ubeda Melgara. El 15/2/26, mi esposo tuvo una cita de última hora con ICE. Fuimos juntos y yo regresé sola a casa sin mi esposo. Los oficiales de ICE me informaron que lo tendrían detenido hasta su audiencia judicial. Mi esposo vino aquí en busca de una vida mejor; es muy trabajador y la persona más honesta que he conocido. Estamos en proceso de solicitar su cambio de estatus migratorio a través de nuestro matrimonio; el último paso es completar su examen médico, lo cual ya no podemos hacer sin que lo liberen. Vivo con el temor de que todo el tiempo y el dinero que gastamos para llegar aquí se estén agotando poco a poco. Estoy pidiendo ayuda a cualquier familiar, amigos y miembro de mi comunidad para que me ayuden con los honorarios futuros de abogados para poder traer a mi esposo a casa.
