Palm Springs’ first fire engine — the legendary 1931 American LaFrance “El Diablo” once protected this community when Palm Springs was still young.
Now, we’re raising $100,000 to fully restore and refurbish this historic piece of our Fire Department’s legacy so it can be proudly displayed for future generations.
Palm Springs has always been a community built on pride, resilience, and looking out for one another.
And long before modern fire apparatus, advanced equipment, and today’s technology… there was one engine that helped protect this desert town when it was still growing into what we know today.
Help us bring a legend back to life and be part of Palm Springs history forever.
