April Showers: Bring Dignity to St. Louis This Spring
They say April showers bring May flowers.
For people without housing in St. Louis, a shower means something far more immediate.
It means being clean. It means being seen. It means a shot at starting over—if only for a day.
As spring begins, InExcelsis is launching our April Showers campaign to expand something simple and powerful: access to a hot shower and clean clothes.
A woman stepped into one of our mobile showers for the first time after months of living outside. When she finished, she stood there holding a towel and said quietly: "I feel like a human being again."
What We're Seeing Every week, we meet people who haven't had a real shower in weeks. Last year, our mobile unit provided 542 showers. What we saw just as clearly: a shower only goes so far if someone has to put the same clothes back on.
So we added something new.
What Your Support Funds Our Mobile Clothing Outreach bus now travels alongside the shower unit, providing:
Fresh socks, underwear, and seasonal clothing
Help securing IDs and essential documents
A real chance to show up for a job interview or medical visit with dignity
What It Takes $25 provides a hot shower and clean clothes for one person. $100 keeps our units running for an afternoon. $250 stocks the clothing bus for a full week.
