Help Bring Diego Home to His Family
My name is Luzmar, and I’m raising money to help my uncle, Diego Giraldo Hincapie, come home to his family.
Diego is a husband, a father of three children, and a grandfather to one granddaughter, with another grandchild on the way. To me, he is much more than an uncle. I never had a father, and he was like a father to me. His love, kindness, and support have meant so much to my life. That is the person I know and love, and why I am asking for your help.
Life in Venezuela is extremely hard. Hunger, poverty, and the daily struggle to survive are some of the most painful experiences a person can endure. No one should have to wonder whether they will have enough to eat or live in fear of speaking freely.
My uncle moved to the United States in 2021 after leaving Venezuela to escape a dictatorship, poverty, and hunger. He wanted a chance to live with dignity—to speak openly, afford basic necessities, and build a safer, more stable future for himself and his family.
On September 10, 2026, he was detained by ICE. His bond has been set at $35,000, an amount our family cannot afford on our own.
It is heartbreaking to have him separated from his wife, his children, his granddaughter, and everyone who loves him. With another grandchild on the way, we hope he can be home to share that special moment with his family.
We are asking for help to pay his immigration bond so he can reunite with his family while he continues his immigration proceedings. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to bringing him home. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to us.
Thank you for your kindness and for supporting our family during this difficult time. We will share updates here as we learn more.
With gratitude,
Luzmar and family

Luzmar y familia
